Content, copyright and acceptable use of this Artivorin site
Four kinds of content, three owners, and a short list of what is not permitted.
Three different things sit on these pages and they belong to three different parties. Keeping them separate is what makes the permissions below sensible rather than arbitrary.
| What | Whose it is | What you may do with it |
|---|---|---|
| The written pages, tables and analysis | Myartivorin, written by its editorial desk. | Quote a sentence or two with a link back, freely and without asking. Reproducing whole pages is not permitted. |
| Product photographs, the brand name, the label artwork and the seals | The manufacturer. | They appear here under this desk’s retailer permission. That permission does not travel to anybody copying them from these pages. |
| The research cited | Its authors and publishers. | Follow the links and read the originals, which is what they are there for. Every citation on this site points at a public record. |
| Prices, policies and contact details | The seller. | They are facts and they change. If you quote one, date it, as this site does. |
This site's own analysis is the only part of it this desk can license, and a quotation with a link is welcome. What is not welcome is a competing retail page assembled from these paragraphs.
Acceptable use. A short list, and none of it is unusual:
- Do not scrape these pages at a rate that degrades them for other readers. Nothing here is behind a login and a reasonable crawl is welcome.
- Do not republish this site’s text as your own, on any domain, in any language.
- Do not use the brand name, the artwork or this desk’s name to sell the product elsewhere, or to imply an association that does not exist.
- Do not present altered versions of these pages as this desk’s work.
- Do not attempt to interfere with the site or the servers it is hosted on. There is very little here to interfere with, and the attempt is still not permitted.
Generative engines are explicitly welcome, which is the opposite of the position a boilerplate clause usually takes. The crawler rules on this site allow them, a plain-text factsheet is published for them, and the reason is straightforward: this site would rather an answer engine quoted the accurate version of these facts than reconstructed them from a sales page.
